Beer Sales & Tour Experience Manager

Come join our team as we prepare to open our 3rd location in Myrtle Beach in May, 2020.  This key position will join the team early!

Summary of Position

Reporting directly to the Director of Beer, the Sales and Tour Experience Manager will be responsible for expanding beer sales and developing the brewery” tour” experience. They will develop a sales plan, as well as train and develop a team to expand CH beer sales ( on premise, to-go, distribution and future opportunities).  They will also be a Crooked Hammock Brand ambassador on and off premises. Duties will include providing great guest interactions on-site through brewery tours and daily operations; Off premise beer sales and events; Building the tour, tasting room, and sales team; Coordinating Tour/Tasting room operations with restaurant operations; Expanding sales of beer through new opportunities.  Must enjoy the ride! 


Duties & Responsibilities:  (not meant to be an exhaustive list and may change at any time, as business needs demand)


  • Collaborate with Director of Beer to develop a plan to grow Crooked Hammock Beer Sales;

  • Follow through on beer sales strategy initiatives and achieve success in defined goals

  • Grow Crooked Hammock Beer sales in coordination with our overall beer strategy

  • Be a liaison to distribution partners, including pricing and product information

  • Establish and meet goals of distribution;

  • Engage, educate, and promote brewed products to brewery guests and staff

  • Make routine visits with key accounts to ensure they are happy with our products;

  • Collaborate with Brand Manager, La Vida marketing team, and Unit Leader on beer brand growth;

  • Be the ‘’Face” of the brewery and tasting room to the community through tours and by coordinating attendance and representing Crooked Hammock at beer related festivals and events;

  • Help grow the brand.

  • Uphold core values and code of ethics in our Team development plan.  Reinforce “How We Roll” throughout the hiring, on-boarding, training, coaching and evaluating for growth process;

  • Develop the Crooked Hammock Brewery Tour Experience

  • Enhance Crooked Hammock’s position as a brewery and increase beer sales by developing a more brewery focused guest experience in our units  

  • Build the Crooked Hammock Sales/Tasting Room/Tour Teams

  • Educate employees and the community about the Crooked Hammock brand and culture;

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the industry; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies;

  • Ensure team members have the right tools, knowledge and equipment required to do their jobs safely and effectively;

  • Make employment and termination decisions including interviewing, hiring, evaluating and disciplining tasting room personnel, as appropriate, and in accordance with Company policies, rules, and procedures, in collaboration with Director of Beer

  • Oversee and ensure that policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and completed on a timely basis;

  • Live the brand and be a brand ambassador.


  • Develop an operational plan for Brewery Tour and Tastings;

  • Translate the overall beer strategy into sales goals and objectives for sales teams

  • Utilize “Beer 101” training materials to educate team

  • Coordinate with Director of Beer to create production goals;

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of staffing needs.  Prepare schedules and ensures that events/tours/tastings are staffed for all shifts;

  • Create and maintain a fun, creative, and educational environment dedicated to beer.



  • College degree preferred;

  • At least 3 years experience in a pub brewing environment;

  • At least 2 years experience in distribution sales;

  • At least 3 years experience in a leadership role;

  • A combination of practical experience and education may be considered as an alternative;

  • An understanding of brewing processes and equipment;

  • Strong understanding of Crooked Hammock Brewery products;

  • Outgoing personality who can talk to anyone in any setting;

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and sobriety while working in environments where beer will be flowing constantly;

  • Professional communication skills both verbal and written. Will communicate with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel, as well as guests;

  • Strong planning and organizational skills. A self starting work ethic and the ability to multitask, prioritize and adapt to changing situations;

  • Ability to work flexible hours is required, including off shifts;

  • Ability to represent company at special events on and off premises;

  • Microsoft Office skills and proficient in Google Docs;

  • Frequently walk and occasionally bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch. This position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds;

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time;

  • Requires the kind of relentless pursuit of quality that comes with a deep love of our brand and the products that we produce, in order to ensure their continued quality into the future.
