Cerebral Brewing is an award-winning craft brewery located in the heart of the Bluebird district of Denver, Colorado. Our goal is to combine scientific methodology with an artistic viewpoint to create extremely drinkable beers spanning a broad spectrum of styles - including, but not limited to, Foeder-Fermented Lagers, New England-inspired IPAs and Barrel Aged Stouts.
Cerebral Brewing is looking to add a talented and motivated Brewer to our team to further the growth of our nationally recognized and award winning brand. This position will split time between our lab and brewing/cellaring tasks.
Job responsibilities include:
QA/QC: Plating on multiple media types and gram staining to detect possible beer spoilage organisms
Yeast management: Propagation from slant, harvesting, pitching, cell counts and daily monitoring of in-house grown yeast
Documentation: Manage all quality related record keeping and compliance documentation
Raw materials: Assessment, organization, management, and inventory
Wort production: Production of specified wort with attention to detail and world-class manufacturing techniques
Barrel program: Filling, emptying, and sampling as needed
Collaboration: Creative ideation of new products and modification of existing projects
Bright beer: Low-oxygen transfers, carbonation monitoring, and True-to-Brand assessment
Packaging: Packaging of brite and still beer in kegs, bottles, and cans
CIP Operations: Cleaning of FVs, BTs, and Brewhouse using industry best practices
Taproom: Assist with taproom operations during releases and special events as needed
Required experience and abilities:
We are a small team of dedicated beer professionals - a positive attitude is a must
Minimum 2 years of relevant brewing and QA/QC experience
Brewing-related certification or degree preferred
Intensive attention to detail
Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards
Self-motivated with good time management skills
Ability to manage multiple processes at one time
Ability to effectively communicate with team members throughout the brewery
Availability to work nights and weekends
Ability to meet physical challenges of working in a production brewery and with hazardous materials
This is a full time position (35 to 40+ hrs/wk).
