General Manager – Kansas Division 

The Opportunity 
We're looking for someone to become a trusted leader for our 125 Kansas based employees. We operate five distribution centers throughout the state and sell to 4.7 million consumers in four channels, package liquor stores, chain grocery /mass merchandiser, convenience stores and on premise. We have won numerous supplier awards for our diligent execution and loyalty to building the brands of each supplier partner. If selected you would direct the annual operating plan, gross margin and expenses budgeting, personnel decisions, supplier and major account relationships and direct the acquisition of new brands and packages. 

The Requisite Skills
Coaching and Empowering Others – Our best candidates will have a proven record of growing revenue by “growing” people. Our GM knows how to hire, train, and motivate, a solid team of sales managers and support staff. He or she also has a critical eye on performance patterns and implements corrective action as needed. 

Execution and Organization – Our best candidate knows how to build a revenue and profit plan and delivers against it by closely managing key metrics and driving daily execution of the defined KPI’s needed to achieve the plan.

 
Professionalism – Our best candidate will have earned the respect and trust of numerous suppliers because he is courteous, patient and professional and always works for the best possible outcome for both LDF and the supplier. He is ethical, respects our contractual agreements and speaks with authority.

Education & Experience – Our ideal GM candidate started his/her career over 15 years ago in the wholesale beverage business.  They have experience selling to both independent and chain accounts, leading teams, and has a practical understanding on the operational aspects of the business.  A college degree in business, finance or marketing is preferred with a MBA highly desired. Experience with wine and spirits sales and distribution is a plus as our W&S division is a core revenue contributor.
