This leadership role within our marketing team is charged with delivering creative, design-driven solutions across our portfolio of breweries – Boulevard Brewing Co., Brewery Ommegang, our Belgian import brands Duvel and Chouffe, in addition to our newest innovations by Boulevard Beverage Co. This position reports to the VP of Marketing and works closely with brand leadership to help grow our business every single day. 

The Creative Director guides all projects and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative department. While some Creative Directors take on a purely managerial role, this position keeps one foot in the trenches, helping to generate the big ideas and work closely with the team to bring them to fruition.

  • Sharpen our creative approach, manage the process from concept to completion
  • Ensure that our brands have strong brand standards and that design work is in alignment
  • Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
  • Lead and direct the creative team in the production of all packaging and promotion tools
  • Own the execution of key creative projects, from design to copywriting
  • Oversee deliverables, timelines and budgets related to the creative team
  • Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative team
  • Present high-priority projects to leadership with confidence and humility, sharing rationale and advocating for the creative work, while remaining open to feedback
  • Lead brainstorms and ideation sessions within the marketing team and greater organization as needed
  • Cultivate career development and ongoing training of the current team, while recruiting new talent as needed
  • Continually look for improvement in our processes, creating more impact and efficiency
  • Participate in the innovation and annual planning processes, bringing forth trends and data to help us define areas of innovation and opportunity
  • Aggressively pursue new, breakthrough ideas to drive the business


  • At least 10 years’ experience within the Creative field and across the Marketing function
  • At least three years’ experience leading a creative department
  • Strong body of design work communicated in your portfolio
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and creative tools
  • Strong alignment to company culture and values
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of innovation and challenging the status quo
  • Experience working in a self-motivated, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with management, peers and across functions
  • Ability to think strategically and translate ideas into practical execution
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours
  • Results-oriented and determined in the face of a challenge
  • Bachelor’s degree
