Sales and Merchandising Representative Connecticut Territory


We are a leading regional full-service food and beverage distributor, based in New Jersey.  We carry more than 200 top brands of your favorite natural and organic foods and beverages.   We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced person to lead our sales effort in the Connecticut region.



Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain full distribution and display of products in assigned accounts.
  • Call on target accounts on an ongoing basis; develop new accounts in Territory; further develop existing accounts; build great relationships with customers
  • Maximize placement and performance of food and beverage products (reefer, dry, freezer) in assigned key accounts
  • Assist with all major retail initiatives (new product introductions, new chain activations, contests, etc.)
  • Develop and sell all key store personnel on major principal objectives such as brand information, shelf standards, etc.
  • Develop and execute retail territory coverage plan to ensure prioritized coverage goals are met
  • Rotate stock, clean and stock display and price merchandise as appropriate.
  • Perform such duties as checking date codes, ensuring adherence to approved plan-o-gram
  • Assist with key account category resets



Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven success in sales call strategies
  • Associate / Bachelor Degree a plus (degree in process is acceptable)
  • Ability to take initiative, be persistent, passionate and curious
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Confident interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Spanish Proficiency a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Experience working with Whole Foods and Shoprite a plus
