Position Overview

The Regional Sales Manager-West position is designed to manage and grow Lenny & Larry’s business in the western geography of the US Market. The RMS position involves multiple channel coverage with primary focus on two key segments:

  • Direct buying Retailers & Distributors.

  • Grocery & Natural retailers buying from distributors (primarily UNFI & Kehe).

  • West Coast Health & Fitness Customers.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with Manager the RSM is required to assess, develop and execute customer specific growth plans focused on expanding distribution and scheduling of promotions including display activity, ultimately improving Lenny & Larry’s position in the marketplace.

  • The RSM is required to travel regularly to attend customer sales calls in person in order to develop new distribution and effective promotional programming.

  • Utilizing Company provided templates, the RSM is expected to build and professionally execute L&L sales presentations at customer HQ with appropriate buyers. In addition, the RSM is expected to have a full understanding of the retail landscape of a given customer – this requires regular retail store visits and audits.

  • The RSM is required to regularly work with L&L Trade Marketing on key functions including Sales Planning & Trade Spend Management, this requires the ability to work within our TPM System to provide forecasting models capturing Volume and Trade Spend.

  • The RSM position is required to follow published sales Trade Spend Guidelines & Procedures.

  • The RSM may be required to attend specific trade shows, from time to time these trade shows may be held on weekends.

  • The RSM position may be required to work with brokers when assigned to specific customers.

  • The RSM is expected to adhere to all published Lenny & Larry’s Employee Policies & Procedures.

    Tracking Tools (Company provides)

    o  Monthly Sales Reports to track sales vs. assigned company and individual objectives (IBOs).

    o  Distributor Sales Reports

    o  TPM System to plan & track trade spend

    o  Category and account specific syndicated data

    Minimum Job Requirements

  • Education: Minimum requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Sales or Marketing

  • Requires a minimum of recent 5 years of sales, or equivalent related work experience

  • Experience calling on customers in Grocery & Natural channels

  • Experience calling on or working with Health & Fitness customers

  • Must have the ability to quickly learn functionality of proprietary software, and syndicated data provided by the Company to manage the business (Trade Planners, TPM System, Spins and Concur)

  • Must possess computer skills with a keen understanding of business software such as, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

  • Must be outgoing, positive and have energetic personality

  • Must have the ability to work independently, self-starter, and be exceedingly responsible

  • Must have a current valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

  • Must have current auto insurance documentation

  • Possess a proactive attitude, initiative and drive

  • Must have superior negotiating and influencing skills

  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills with a keen ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, and ability to follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and customers.

  • Requires the ability to promptly respond to customers and co-workers in a diplomatic and positive manner

  • Possess excellent organizational skills

  • Be able to handle pressure skillfully

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently

  • Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment

  • Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings on occasion

  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment
