Helltown Brewing is looking to add a team member to assist with brewing and cellaring in our production facility located in Export, PA. This position is a full-time, salaried, position with benefits including health and dental insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off and weekly beer allowances. The salary is based on experience and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow their role with the company over time. This position reports to the Operations Manager. The primary responsibilities of this position will be split between wort production and all cellaring tasks. Other responsibilities include assisting with packaging, warehousing and other tasks as needed.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Willingness work in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and respond effectively to changing priorities and schedules
  • B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, or other relevant field
  • 1+ years of brewing experience ideally in a production setting
  • Strong knowledge of brewing fundamentals and processes
  • Love of traditional beer styles and modern American craft beer and ability to perform sensory analysis of beers
  • Requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and independently in accordance with production deadlines
  • Must be comfortable with heights of 30+ ft
  • Requires the ability to work safely in a loud, hot, cold and/or wet production environment on one’s feet for most of the day
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift 55lbs.
  • Must be willing to work a variable schedule including mornings, evenings and occasional weekends as needed

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist with brewhouse operations (i.e. milling, mashing, lautering, kettle additions etc.)
  • CIP/Sanitization of vessels (fermenters, heat exchanger, mash tun, kettle, and brite beer tanks)
  • Tank management (gravity checks, trub dumps and dry-hopping, fining, etc)
  • Maintaining proper logging of all tasks and inventory in appropriate software
  • Troubleshooting, technical maintenance and quality assurance
  • Receiving and storing deliveries properly
  • Assist with kegging and canning as needed
  • Forklift operation
  • Other duties as assigned
