The Region Vice President of Sales will be responsible for leading and managing the Region team to execute market level sales and brand building activities/programs in order to achieve predetermined depletion and sales revenue objectives as well as deliver KPI (Key Performance Indicators) objectives in the Region. An important part of the position is to provide coaching/education/training to the Region team in order to develop capabilities and business performance of the team. The Region Vice President of Sales reports to the Executive Vice President of Sales and is accountable for (a) developing talent within organization in order to increase their value to the company, and (b) delivering the sales revenue objectives set for the Region.

Location:  Remote, based in either NorCal or SoCal.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Region team in the development of business plans for covered markets and being accountable for the results of the business plan
  • Routinely assesses the business performance of the Region and takes appropriate actions to ensure achievement/over-achievement of the Region’s sales target
  • Guides the pre-planning/budgeting of all company activity in the market, including volume planning, spending initiatives, and KPI objectives
  • Ensuring senior distributor/broker management commitment to all company goals and initiatives
  • Leads and directs Region team in order to achieve company volume and financial targets and sell-through objectives in the markets
  • Routinely analyzes distributor execution performance as well as gauges competitive activity in the market and takes corrective/business maximizing actions as needed
  • Responsible for the training of the Region team in order to build a high-performance team that accomplishes the company’s objectives; Builds the skills and competence of the organization through ongoing support and coaching
  • Ensures all in-market spending/ monies are effectively spent, maximizing value creation; managing budgets so that spending stays within assigned budgets
  • Monitors and tracks pricing to ensure brand pricing guidelines are executed throughout Region, including all pricing in the On-Premise National Accounts channel
  • Reports on market results, as well as changing market activity on a routine basis
  • Drives/leads day-to-day execution across all liquor channel team initiatives and programs. This includes OAT target execution, NA channel execution, and, if appropriate, success in the Off-Premise/retail channel
  • Ensure that established processes and priorities are flawlessly executed in order to develop distinct competitive advantage for the Company. Introduce additional structure, as required
  • Ensure that the team is organized and methodical. Ensure that liquor channel priorities and initiatives drive the focus and energy of the Region team and that the team is results-oriented
  • Drives/leads OAT management in order to to deliver fiscal year depletion objective for the Region
  • Regular review of compliance execution against mandated programming in leading National Accounts. Provides Region team with the appropriate direction and leads Region team execution to realize the significant business opportunity in the channel. Establishes best in class compliance management and results
  • Routine review of retail off-premise results and KPIs in order to drive flawless distribution and execution in leading retail accounts and markets managed by the liquor channel team
  • Manages promotion spending as well as T&E spending against established budgets in order to maximize profitability of the Region

    • Ideal Background:

      • BA in Business or business related field is required
      • Experience driving flawless execution by regional sales teams working with wine and spirits distributors
      • Ideally a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the beverage alcohol or non-alcoholic beverage industry, with a solid understanding of the on-premise channel required. Distributor management experience and driving results through spirits and wine distributors is definitely preferred. Strong knowledge of the retail environment preferred
      • Objective-oriented, focused individual who needs little direction or supervision; energy, enthusiasm, and being proactive are critical
      • Willingness to travel 40%-50% of work week (limited travel during COVID)
