When all was said and done, the answer was pretty clear: replacing weird, industrial ingredients with simple, healthier ones was the key to thriving, not just surviving. Motivated by their health and wellness learnings, they set out to create a food brand that brought to life their newfound passion and human-centric philosophy.
Today, Hu makes a variety of delicious snacks and confections, including our award-winning dark chocolate bars, chocolate-covered nuts and fruit, and grain-free crackers. We aim to be a brand that leads with taste and nutrition, while balancing that ambition with a human-centric focus on purpose, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. About the Role
Hu is looking for a chocolate-loving Associate Finance Manager to join our Finance team. A great candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting, accounts receivable and payable processes, chargebacks, expense reports, and month-end close activities. This position will be a part of a small Finance team including the CFO and Finance Manager, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
Oversee fulfilled orders and invoices generated in Netsuite by 3rd party accountants.
Track receivables aging and follow-up actively with late-paying customers.
Code invoices and maintain vendor relationships regarding payment details and overdue/missing invoices in accordance with internal policies.
Co-lead month-end close activities: reconciling bank statements and general ledgers, post journal entries, record cash receipts/disbursements, update reconciliations and schedules, assist in inventory reconciliation, calculate broker commissions and approve team expense reports.
Dispute chargebacks from distributors and other customers, reconciling payments against promotional schedules.
Manage account records, review existing documents, and provide ad-hoc support to the Finance team.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance strongly preferred.
At least 3+ years of finance and accounting experience at an inventory-based business preferred.
Deep experience with Netsuite, SAP and/or Quickbooks.
Experience in receivables management and collection, as well as with distributor chargebacks.
Experience with Bill.com and Expensify preferred, but not mandatory.
Strong Excel skills - must be comfortable analyzing and manipulating large data sets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Maniacal attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High level of professionalism and ability to effectively communicate information with internal and external stakeholders in a positive and influential manner.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced, rapid growth start-up environment.
