The Vice President of Operations will manage our entire operations department & goals. This includes responsibility for supply chain, production, warehousing, new product launches, transportation (for both online & retail channels), product quality, and savings goals. This person should be able to operate at both the strategic and tactical levels, resolving daily issues in operations, and also building a strategic 12-36 month plan for operations.
You will report to the CEO and manage an existing operations team of 3 throughout this high growth period for our company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be a key member of executive team
- Develop Ops Financial Plan & identify major risks and opportunities
- Constantly work to identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings
- Track all operations activity in NetSuite and report regularly to CEO & CFO on COGS, inventory levels, production plan, OTIF, and other KPIs
- Build world class operations team through coaching and developing direct reports
- Manage all co-packer & supplier relationships, and serve as company representative to all operations partners
- Ensure production meets sales demand and manage demand/actuals/production reporting
- Oversee the company S&OP process
- Partner with Marketing/Sales in the development and commercialization of new product lines
- Take ownership of complex improvement initiatives and break projects down into manageable plans
- Direct the Fat Snax co-packer network including identifying new co-packers for scale and to serve as back-ups as needed
Job Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience managing operations functions in food industry
- Previously held role as Director/VP Operations
- Proven track record scaling production for food startups within $5-100mm range
- Experience with baked goods, incl. cookies and crackers
- NetSuite experience including ability to manage set up and coach team, establish and revise workflow
- Strong team building & management skills
- Entrepreneurial “can do” attitude
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Heavy experience managing co-packers
- Excellent skills in presenting, negotiating, and communicating both internally and externally
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
