Searching for an Assistant Brewer to work in TALEA’s brewery in New York City.

About Us


TALEA’s brewery and taproom in Williamsburg, Brooklyn opened in March 2021. Our hospitality-focused experience will showcase our signature low-bitterness, fruit-forward beers with a focus on tours & tastings. With our 20 barrel brew house and pilot system, we will continue to brew and release crowd favorites as well as experimental small batch beers, all with the mission of creating easy-to-love beers for beer nerds and novices alike.


The Role


TALEA is looking for an eager and hard-working assistant brewer / cellarperson to work side by side with our Head Brewer. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and has a desire to learn more about all aspects of brewing. One to two years of cellar or brewing experience is ideal, but enthusiasm, curiosity, and a desire to grow into the role are equally important. 


As members of the nimble TALEA team, you’ll be joining a growing company in its early stage and working closely with the Head Brewer, Head of Operations, and Co-Founders - be prepared to get your hands dirty!   • Maintain a safe and ridiculously clean work space throughout the brewery

  • Perform Clean in Place and Sanitize in Place processes for brewery vessels

  • Harvest and re-pitch yeast, monitor yeast health, and keep them happy 

  • Sanitary transfer of wort and beer in process

  • Operate forklift to receive materials 

  • Organize and maintain cold and dry storage spaces

  • Assist the head brewer with wort production and brewhouse operations

  • Weigh out grain per recipes, crush grains using 2-roller mill

  • Weight out hops for brewhouse additions including performing alpha-acid calculations when necessary

  • Meticulously collect data on the beer throughout the brewing and cellaring process

  • Recording brewhouse and fermentation data in Ekos Brewmaster ERP software.

  • Performing inventory checks and recording that data in Ekos Brewmaster.

  • Operate Keg Washer and Keg Filler

  • Assist in canning runs

  • Dry-hopping and fruiting beers on a secured person-lift.

  • Contribute to a positive work environment through open and constructive dialog

  • Contribute to continuous innovation and improvements

  • Communicate issues and concerns as they arise with staff and management



  • Passionate about craft beer, excited about TALEA’s vision, and obsessed with brewing

  • Must be able and willing to work a variable shift schedule that is dependent upon the operational needs of the brewery, which could include weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts

  • Fanatical about cleanliness, quality control, and safety

  • Enthusiastic and comfortable working for an early-stage company in a rapidly changing environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Prior forklift operation experience and/or readiness to learn

  • 1-2 years of experience in a cellar or brewing role preferred

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Ability to lift 55 pounds

  • Folks with brewery (or other CPG products) packaging experience that includes performing lots of CIP/SIP processes.

  • Folks with brewery QA/QC experience. If you’re an awesome scientist willing to learn the production side, we’d for sure be interested.



  • Starting pay will be full-time hourly and based on experience

  • Eligible for TALEA Employee Benefits including 50% healthcare coverage
