What does a day in the life of a Shrink Sleeve Production Line Operator look like?
Primary duties are to apply shrink sleeves to cans using a highly automated sleeving production line
Cans are loaded into an automatic depalletizer, run down a conveyor to a shrink sleeve applicator, then into a heat tunnel, and finally to a re-palletizer.
Move pallets around the facility and apply top-frames, pallet bands and plastic wrap to pallets as necessary, and other light warehouse duties
Perform daily repetitive functions
Troubleshoot and general support of shrink sleeve operations
A physically challenging but rewarding job
The primary responsibility is to hit the production targets of sleeved can pallets per day.
Prepare blank aluminum cans for daily shrink sleeve production runs, including removing packaging and top-frames from pallets prior to loading onto the line.
Operate the de-palletizing, shrink sleeving and re-palletizing equipment
The Production Line Operator is to make sure equipment is supplied with cans, fix any jams or bottlenecks in the line, operate the re-palletizer and remove the pallet of cans when complete.
Execute quality control checks on finished goods
Prepare finished product for shipping
Light warehouse duties such as organizing inventory, accepting deliveries, maintaining and preparing equipment
Shrink sleever machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance as required
Legally eligible to work in The United States Of America
2 years of previous warehouse, brewery,or packaging experience. Prefer candidates with experience operating SKA Depalletizer equipment and/or can sleeving equipment.
Comfortable working with and troubleshooting moving mechanical parts in varying work environments
Take pride in your work with a willingness to work long, irregular hours to go the extra mile to get the job done right
Have good people and communication skills, are customer driven and results oriented
Able to work on your feet for lengthy shifts and lift/move heavy, irregular objects
Forklift experience and license or willing to obtain
