Positions available: Retail & E-commerce Homebrew Expert, Taproom Manager, Brewer
Boulder Fermentation Supply / Vision Quest BrewingApply for this Job
Boulder has a homebrewing history that dates back to the early 1970's and is home to a variety of breweries and brewpubs as well as the main trade associations in commercial brewing and homebrewing. In 2013, Boulder Fermentation Supply was opened to serve the immediate and surrounding area with brewing, winemaking and other fermentation supplies and ingredients. The BFS family has decades of combined experience in homebrewing, mead making, winemaking, cider, kombucha, jun, and other non-beer crafts.
In 2015, our dedication to homebrewing and operating our small shop propelled us to expand the homebrew store and also open Vision Quest Brewing Co. using an in-house fabricated 3bbl electric brewhouse. Our efforts to stimulate palates were rewarded- brewing and selling great beer across a variety of styles new and old in our taproom allowed us to expand. In 2017 we upgraded to a 7bbl direct-fire brewhouse and more cellar equipment which doubled our production capacity. We began a small distribution of kegs to our favorite establishments and maintained a small number of bottle shop accounts. Present day, we've yet again expanded our production capacity in January 2020 with the acquisition of six 14bbl fermentors, and a 10bbl brewhouse with more automation. In 2021 we've embarked on a stronger packaging journey with a 15 cpm Cask SAMs canning line and an amazing sales team.
Today we seek three adaptable and high-energy individuals who have established skills to bring to three specific areas of the company.
Homebrewing Retail Expert (& E-commerce)
This position requires a strong background in homebrewing and other hand-crafting hobbies. IT, photography, web content management or web design, and e-commerce platforms (maintenance and implementation) experience is also necessary. This role is not limited to technology-based work and will also include direct sales to customers, answering the phone, and working in our brick and mortar homebrew shop. As we grow our distribution footprint, this position will begin to include off-site event related work. We're looking to fill this position with someone who has strong leadership skills, humility, brewery taproom experience and full-time availability.
This position will encompass all areas of production at Vision Quest Brewing Co. including wort production, yeast management, CIP of brewhouse and cellar, barrel management, packaging, recipe development and raw materials ordering. Full-time availability required.
Must be able to lift 55lb over shoulders repeatedly. Responsible for implementing plans and scheduling of other brewery personnel. Innovative, adaptable and endurance minded work ethic required. Must work well with others. Responsible for doing a thorough job and maintaining a positive attitude. Problem solving and mechanical abilities are necessary in this position.
