Sr. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Analyst

The Sr. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Analyst is responsible for ensuring artwork and advertisements are legally compliant for all of Niagara, LLC and Embotelladora de Niagara Mexico. This role is responsible for reviewing current and proposed regulations, communicating and implementing the necessary changes to ensure continued compliance with state and federal labeling regulations and company policies.

Essential Functions


  • Review and approve all new and revised domestic artwork and advertising material for technical and grammatical accuracy to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. 
  • Support the Mexico team with artwork and advertising compliance.
  • Work with the cross functional team to plan and execute strategic labeling initiatives to provide cost savings, reduce scrap exposure and provide manufacturing and vendor flexibility.
  • Interact and provide guidance to customers, vendors and internal team members on current and up-coming regulations.
  • Communicate with customers and the cross functional team to ensure that all label changes are accurately incorporated in final artwork.
  • Evaluate supplier ingredient information to verify product compliance against Company standards, labeling law and regulations.
  • Determine regulatory status of ingredients to be used in foods and/or dietary supplements.
  • Review acceptability and regulatory status of new and revised product development formulas to ensure US and Mexico market compliance.
  • Develop accurate nutrition facts panels and ingredient statements utilizing ESHA Genesis software.
  • Collaborate with Product Development team to ensure nutritionals are expressed correctly and in compliance with domestic and/or Mexico market requirements.
  • Review beverage and international BOMs to ensure finished goods are compliant and customer specifications are met.
  • Provide training, on-going support to the Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Associate and Analyst.
  • Provide compliance training to QA managers, sales team members, PLM, etc as needed.
  • Function independently as a decision-maker on domestic and Mexico regulatory issues and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Manage kosher certifications, applications and supporting documents. 
  • Stay abreast of state and federal regulations as well as the regulations of exporting countries by understanding the existing and emerging regulations. Communicate all non-compliances to the Quality Compliance Manager and suggest corrective actions. 
  • Develop and implement compliance SOPs such as Labeling Guidelines and check-lists.
  • Provide compliance training to QA managers, sales and PLM team members, etc as needed.
  • Conduct domestic and international compliance research as needed and provide summaries and recommendations.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 4 Years   – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 4 Years  – Experience in Position
    • 2 Years  – Experience managing people/projects

  • Light travel may be required, up to 10%

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint

  • Minimum Required: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Science or other science related field
  • Preferred: 
    • Master's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Science  or other related field
