Job Description: Jack’s Abby is in need of a brewery mechanic who can assist in the maintenance of the physical brewing plant of a large regional brewery including a 130,000 sq ft building with a taproom and a restaurant. The brewery operates an automated 60 bbl brewhouse, with 80,000 BBLs capacity, 36 head can line, 20 head can line, automated keg line, GEA Centrifuge, 8 million BTU boiler, 12 head bottle filler, air compressor systems etc.This position would be primarily responsible for preventive maintenance on all equipment, including both canning lines, and the brewhouse. Work well and professionally with all brewery management teams including the brewery, taproom, sales, marketing managers.
Responsible for servicing all equipment including motors, drives, electrical systems, pumps, with regular routine maintenance.
Follow SOPs for maintenance operations and preventive maintenance.
Work with management to continually recognize and assess possible plant improvements.
Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and PM’s as needed.
Respond to emergency calls during off shift as needed.
Weekend work may be required to accommodate preventive maintenance on machinery while it is not in use or when there are emergency maintenance calls.
Minimize the potential for any "down time" during the company's normal production hours when equipment is down or is in need of repair.
Train production employees regarding the proper and safe use of the company's equipment and facilities.
Ability to stay organized and follow directions/priorities listed in maintenance log and/or direction from manager.
Other tasks as assigned.
Experience within a brewery and or packaging lines is not required.
Passion for craft beer.
Strong understanding/experience with mechanical and engineering systems.
HMI and PLC knowledge is a plus.
Ability to stand for 10+ hrs a day, bend & move limbs, crouch/bend, lift 50+lbs.
Comfort working in a non-climate control environment.
Bilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese) is a plus, but not required.
Weekend/Off-schedule availability for required machine maintenance and/or emergency calls.
