Our field sales team is a foundational growth driver for Torch & Crown’s wholesale business and is responsible for growing sales and distribution of Torch & Crown’s portfolio within all assigned territories for the brewery. We see Manhattan and the five boroughs as a massive opportunity for a homegrown brand here in New York City, and our field sales team is the backbone of that growth. We are genuinely trying to do it differently, from our account support and focus on education, to our beer quality and customer service. This core responsibilities of our Field Sales Manager will equally concentrate on existing key retailers (both on and off premise) and new business development efforts within their assigned territory. The Field Sales Manager will spend approximately 90% of their time in retail execution and field support, with additional event management responsibilities and reporting/admin duties in a lesser capacity. The Field Sales Manager reports directly to the Sales Director.

 

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish sales goals in accordance with our annual sales planning process
  • Call on existing account base within New York City market to obtain new points of distribution, execute promotional activity, and increase market share
  • Solicit new business to increase volume share within the New York City market
  • Manage weekly sales orders and communication with Torch & Crown distribution team
  • Execute events and promotions to deliver greater brand awareness and stimulate sales in New York City. We hate using the word “brand awareness” because it makes us sound stiff, but you get the point. More Torch in front of more people.
  • Conduct staff educations, beer tastings, and other events as needed/requested
  • Be your territory’s resident beer expert.  We want to provide NYC’s best customer service, knowledge, and overall account value to make our portfolio a mainstay within the city.  We don’t want a typical hard sales approach; we want to become a trusted partner to all our retail customers. This means you’re detail-oriented, you always do what you say you’re going to do, and most of all, you’re a good listener.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 2-3 years relevant sales/account management experience within craft beverage industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and capability to learn in-house CRM and sales management software
  • Knowledge of beer styles, brewing, and industry trends
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, time management, and planning skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required
  • Ability to handle long periods of standing/walking, ability to lift 20-50 lbs without assistance, comfort moving full kegs (165lbs) as needed
  • A good sense of humor.  Selling beer should be the most fun job in the world and we want our team to embody Torch & Crown’s brand voice and city-centric point-of-view. You gotta be able to roll with the punches.
