The Assistant Controller will directly lead aspects of the Accounting Team and support the Controller in managing Odell’s accounting and financial activities.
Manage certain accounting operations including general ledger, inventory, and cost accounting
Collaborate with and support departments and revenue centers to ensure accurate accounting records and facilitate continual improvement in accounting processes
Assist the Controller in the training and development of our accounting co-workers to achieve the goals of the department
Lead various accounting processes, such as the cash disbursement process, as needed
Assist with the creation of timely and accurate financial statements, monthly reporting packages, and ad-hoc reporting
Support the preparation of the annual budget
Ensure adherence to proper internal controls, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and industry regulations
Coordinate the preparation of industry regulatory reporting and related tax filings
Assist with compliance for local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Assist with the coordination of our external financial audit and tax teams
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies
Special projects and financial analysis, as needed
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Minimum 4 years of experience of relevant experience
At least 6 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
A Bachelor degree in Accounting is required
Must have an in-depth knowledge of accounting practices and principles with practical application and experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with ERP software and excellent Microsoft Excel skillsets is required
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Must successfully clear a background check

Salary Rate Range:
$70,000 - $95,000 depending on experience
