With beverages from energy teas to hemp milk on display, Natural Products Expo East came back to Baltimore much bigger than when it left.

The Expo doubled in size during its multi-year stay down the road in Washington, D.C., and upon its return sprawled throughout the Baltimore Convention Center, bringing with it scores of interested retailers, all looking for the next Naked Juice or Pom Wonderful, the next great natural beverage to strike retail gold.

In heavy rotation was the concept of functionality – with juice companies, teas and exotics all touting health-promoting properties. Launching new products were tea companies Steaz and Inko’s, both of which had tea-based energy drinks on display, while the Acai-producer Sambazon offered up a pure Acai juice product.

Bossa Nova, another company that uses Acai as a top ingredient, introduced two new flavors and a brand new package. Meanwhile, Hansen’s representatives showed off new cans for Blue Sky Soda.

It’s not easy being green, but a lot of folks are sure giving it a try.
