Who’s Your Daddy, Inc. Signs Undefeated Heavyweight Contender Chris Arreola to Endorsement Deal

CARLSBAD, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Who’s Your Daddy, Inc. (WYD) (OTCBB: WYDI) announced an endorsement deal with undefeated Heavyweight contender Chris Arreola today. WYD’s announcement comes days before Arreola’s April 11th fight against Heavyweight veteran Jameel McCline at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Under the terms of the agreement, Arreola will wear the company’s brand logo on his trunks during the fight. Arreola will also promote the company’s products through the use of his likeness on the company website.

Arreola, whose nickname is “The Nightmare,” and who is of Hispanic American decent, exemplifies the type of athlete WYD wants to associate with. “Chris is a devastating and powerful fighter and someone who brings excitement into the ring every time he fights,” WYD chairman and CEO Michael Dunn said. “As a Mexican Heavyweight, he has a chance to make history and we want to be associated with him as he continues his quest to become the first Mexican Heavyweight Champion of the world.”

The endorsement of Arreola (26-0, 23 Knockouts) represents an aggressive and strategic move into the sport of boxing by an energy drink company. Leigh Steinberg, Arreola’s marketing agent, said the signing of Arreola has major significance in the industry. “The link between professional fighters and a premium sustained energy source makes perfect sense. It is easy to imagine the association of energy drinks and professional boxers becoming a trend in the sport of boxing,” Steinberg said. “The move to sign Chris shows Who’s Your Daddy, Inc.’s commitment to expand its brand and showcase its diverse interests.”

Despite Arreola’s nickname and brutal nature inside the ring, it was his nature outside of the ring that impressed WYD according to Steinberg. “Chris has a great sense of community and of the legacy he is capable of leaving,” Steinberg said. “He is a tremendous role model who will make a major impact in and out of the ring.”

Dunn said that Arreola’s appeal to a Hispanic fan base was a “huge factor in our decision to sign the deal.” In particular, Dunn said the company has a business plan in place to move aggressively into Mexico’s multi-billion dollar energy drink market. “Who’s Your Daddy, Inc. is committed to compete for additional market share and to actively penetrate new markets,” Dunn said. ‘We believe Chris Arreola’s endorsement of our brand will help open new doors.”

Both WYD and Arreola’s representatives agree that the company name and Arreola’s fighting style made for a perfect match. “The ‘Who’s Your Daddy’ brand name in and of itself mirrors the attitude and mentality with which Chris fights,” Steinberg said.

If Arreola is victorious on Saturday night versus McCline (39 wins, 9 losses) there is wide speculation that his next fight would truly be a historic bout. He could possibly face off against current IBF and WBO Heavyweight title-holder Wladimir Klitschko, or his brother, Vitali Klitschko, who currently holds the WBC Heavyweight title, as early as the Fall of 2009 in Los Angeles. Either matchup would be Arreola’s first Heavyweight title shot.
