Cell-nique Gets its Cookies

Macrobiotic superfood drink Cell-nique is turning into natural foods conglomerate Cell-nique.

Owner Dan Ratner completed its second transaction in a year, this time in the non-beverage space, however.

Cell-nique announced today it had acquired Cherrybrook Kitchen, LLC. Cherrybrook makes allergen-free, gluten-free baking mixes, just six months after buying hibiscus soda manufacturer Hibix Corp.

Ratner has stated he wants to put together a natural foods “roll-up” of brands in food and beverage. Cherrybrook was advised by Silverwood Partners, LLC. during the transaction. As part of the transaction, Cell-nique assumed Cherrybrook Kitchen’s outstanding debt of $510,000 along with issuing the owners of Cherrybrook shares in the publicly-traded Cell-nique.

Silverwood Partners, LLC announces two recently-completed transactions in which the firm acted as the exclusive financial advisor: In June, Cherrybrook Kitchen, LLC was acquired by Cell-nique Corporation and in April, the Maine Cottage Furniture business was acquired by Russell & Mackenna, Inc. Cherrybrook Kitchen is a leading brand in the allergen-free and gluten-free baking mix sector. Cherrybrook Kitchen’s founders Chip and Patsy Rosenberg will stay on to continue Cherrybrook’s growth. Under Russell & Mackenna, Maine Cottage, widely regarded in the furniture industry for coining the term “cottage style,” will have its website re-launched and will re-introduce many of the classic fabric and furniture designs currently associated with the brand… a legacy Carol and Peter Bass started over 20 years ago.
