Co-Founder Exits Dream Water

Up and coming relaxation product Dream Water is launching into the natural channel, but it will be doing so without co-founder Adam Platzner.

The 2.5 oz. “sleep shot” has moved into more than 20,000 stores in the past year, establishing itself as the leading sleep-directed relaxation product. In the past six months it has added a few Southern California natural foods stores, and it will be on display at Natural Products Expo West.

The company announced it will be working with UNFI nationally as it tries to crack the channel, according to Joseph Lekach, the company’s EVP of Sales.

But founding member Platzner – the “Chief Brand Officer” –  has apparently decided to move on – leaving co-founders Vince Porpiglia and David Lekach to run things day-to-day.

In a message to BevNET this morning, Platzner said the following:

“I’m leaving Dream Products to focus on other ventures. As a co-founder, I will remain an active shareholder rooting for our company’s sustained success. My partners will continue running the company with a passionate team of talented executives and a seasoned advisory board. It is in good hands! This is an exciting time for Dream Water and it’s a huge year for our brand as we expect significant growth.”
