Video: Aligning Trends and Expertise, Ayala’s Gets Into the Tea Business

Shifting gears, but staying on-trend and within the context of its organic, herbal waters, Ayala’s Herbal Water debuted a new line of herbal teas at the 2013 Summer Fancy Food Show. Caffeine- and sugar-free, Ayala’s Herbal Tea is USDA Certified Organic and contains no calories. The drinks are packaged in 14 oz. glass botles and available in four flavors: Chamomile Bergamot Vanilla, Peppermint Melissa Spearmint, Nutmeg Cacao nibs Cardamom and Rooibos Cinnamon Rose petal.

Ayala’s Herbal Water co-founder Ayala Laufer-Cahana believes that although the target market for the beverages will be those who seek out natural products and lead healthier lifestyles, the product line will attract a range of consumers, particularly as demand for herbal teas continues to grow.

“The herbal tea market is really quite large and goes beyond the natural and organic consumer,” Laufer-Cahana said.

As such, Ayala’s has struck a deal with “two major supermarket chains” (Laufer-Cahana declined to say which ones) to for an exclusive launch of its herbal tea line beginning in August. The beverages will roll out to other retailers in November.
