The moves keep going on at VEB as a result of Scott Uzzell becoming president of the unit, which oversees investments in entrepreneurial companies at the Coca-Cola Co., Inc.
First, Tom Larsen got the chance to move out west to run Zico, which Uzzell had been running before coming back to VEB. Now, Paul Beaupre is moving into Larsen’s old spot as the General Manager of Illy, an RTD coffee venture between VEB and the Italian coffee company.
Beaupre has a long history in the Coke system. His last job was Group Director, Category Commercialization, for Dr Pepper, Monster, and the Coca-Cola energy drink business.
Meanwhile, in news regarding people who have board seats (which doesn’t include us), Alan Murray, the CEO of GoodBelly maker NextFoods and a former heavy hitter at Tetra Pak, has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors at SunOpta, a global company focused on natural and organic foods. Murray isn’t leaving NextFoods, but he is taking over for Jeremy Kendall, SunOpta’s former CEO who had been Chairman for more 30 years. Murray was appointed a director of SunOpta in July 2010, Vice Chair in March 2011 and served as Chairman of the Compensation Committee and as a member of the Corporate Governance and Audit Committees at various times.
