There’s news from the world of sports nutrition that would seem to have some bearing on the future of brands like Karma, Activate, 989 and the like: ProSupps USA, which makes all manner of pre-and post-workout products for weightlifters and other athletes, has licensed the “KarmaCap” — the delivery system used for Karma Wellness Water.
The KarmaCap will be used to deliver ProSupps “Mr. Hyde” pre-workout powder — one largely consisting of creatine, caffeine, and all manner of potent compounds used to make oneself look like the “after” picture in the old Charles Atlas comic book ads — in a single-serve dose.
While cap delivery systems have had their problems — Activate was recently sold to a Canadian distribution company after years of struggling to find traction — there has always been the potential to extend them beyond vitamin mixtures; an early example of this was a probiotic product.
So are there more KarmaCap licenses to come? Only C.J. Rapp and Jeff Platt, the Karma Water co-founders, would seem to know.
