How do you transform a movement into a brand? And once you’ve done that, how do you get it to the public?
Dave Asprey, the founder of Bulletproof, a brand based on hacking human biology with what we eat, drink, and do, thinks he knows how, and he’ll be sharing his ideas at BevNET Live, along with the beverage products that he’s grown from those ideas.
Asprey, a veteran technologist and entrepreneur, didn’t set out to join the beverage business. But in the past few years, he has guided Bulletproof, a diet and system for living that has evolved from a widely-shared coffee recipe to a book and finally to a line of RTD beverages and brick-and-mortar store.
But after spending all of his time and money on developing a system that he says “hacks” the human body, making him skinnier, smarter, and more energetic, Asprey isn’t done — he’s looking to hack beverage distribution as well. He’s moving around traditional routes to market and largely basing his plans to sell his RTD products, Fatwater and Bulletproof Coffee products through an e-commerce platform.
It’s an audacious move, but audaciousness is what has helped build the brand in the first place — and Asprey’s ideas and energy have already made headway with at least one group, the investment community, which recently provided him a $9 million stake to help grow the brand.
The ideas behind Bulletproof’s growth, and the fundamentals of e-commerce and branding that Asprey will discuss should provide a lively new take on the beverage business for the BevNET Live audience.
BevNET Live will be held on Dec. 7 and 8 at the Loews Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif. Early-Bird registration ends today — so contact Jon Landis to join us at the event.

About Bulletproof and Dave Asprey
From private brain EEG facilities hidden in a Canadian forest to remote monasteries in Tibet, from Silicon Valley to the Andes, Dave Asprey used hacking techniques and tried everything on himself, obsessively focused on discovering the answers to this one persistent question:
What are the simplest things you can do to be better at everything?
What emerged is the idea of becoming Bulletproof: the state of high performance where you take control of and improve your biochemistry, your body, and your mind so they work in unison, helping you execute at levels far beyond what you’d expect, without burning out, getting sick, or allowing stress to control your decisions. It used to take a lifetime to radically rewire the human body and mind this way, if you were lucky enough to even know it was possible. Technology has changed the rules.
Dave is the creator of the widely popular Bulletproof Coffee, host of the #1 health podcast, Bulletproof Radio, and author of the New York Times bestselling book, The Bulletproof Diet. Through his work Dave provides information, techniques and keys to taking control of and improving your biochemistry, your body and your mind so they work in unison, helping you execute at levels far beyond what you’d expect, without burning out, getting sick, or allowing stress to control your decisions.
Dave’s newest venture, the first Bulletproof Coffee shop and cafe, is scheduled to open in Santa Monica, California in mid 2015.
