Beverage School San Francisco: Initial Presenters and Sessions Announced for September 12 Program

BevNET is pleased to release some of the instructors for the upcoming Beverage School event, which will be held at the Fort Mason Conference Center in San Francisco on Sept. 12.  The event will run from 10AM to 5PM.

This first flight of instructors will be on hand to guide attendees through the specific technical and legal steps involved in creating a beverage, as well as basic beverage distribution and retailing mechanics, and a broad discussion of the beverage industry as an operating environment, indicating potential strategic opportunities for entrepreneurs that can be identified by an analysis of current business trends.

BevNET will announce more sessions in the days to come.

Initial speakers include:

Neil Kimberley, Founder, Foods, Fluids and Beyond: Mr. Kimberley, who has worked with major corporations like Hershey, Snapple, and Cadbury Schweppes, and who works with beverage startups including Runa Guayusa, will provide a high-level look at the overall state of the beverage industry and what the trends in the business mean for entrepreneurs.

Eric Schnell, CEO and Founder, MetaBrand: Mr. Schnell, who launched beverage products Steaz and I AM, and is the managing partner of products like FitPro and Code Blue, will discuss the initial steps to getting a beverage formulated and manufactured, including flavors and ingredients, co-packing, and the other steps required from taking a product from the kitchen and into development.

Justin Prochnow, Shareholder, Greenberg Traurig: Mr. Prochnow, an expert in agency and administrative law who currently works with a broad spectrum of food and beverage companies, will outline legal requirements and challenges for new beverage companies.

Debbie Wildrick, Founder, Growing Innovative Brands/Director, Metabrands Beverages & Snacks Advisory Group: an expert in strategic market planning, Ms. Wildrick, the former Senior Director of Vault and Proprietary Beverages for 7-Eleven, will discuss retail channels and the sales and marketing priorities within those channels.

Bill Sipper, Managing Partner, Cascadia Managing Brands: Mr. Sipper, who has been a senior sales and marketing executive for beverage brands including Nantucket Nectars, Fresh Samantha, Naked Juice, Snapple, Sanfaustino Water, Clearly Canadian and many others, will outline the process of gaining and maintaining a distribution plan for your beverage company, explaining the relationship between brokers, DSD, direct-ship and hybrid distribution models.
