Glastonbury, CT – “When I received a call from Newtown’s head ice hockey coach, Paul Esposito, who told me about the event, it was not even a question of if, but how much we could do to assist,” Hockey Soda Beverage President, Joe Bonfiglio said. “Within the sport of hockey are the aspirational characteristics associated with those who play and follow the sport. We are a family. In good times and in bad, the hockey world rallies to support those who need them. Having young children of my own, my heart aches for the loved ones of the angels and heroes who lost their lives.”
The Hockey Soda Beverage Company will be donating cases of Hockey Soda Energy and various merchandise to Newtown High School’s varsity ice hockey program as part of the team’s benefit game for the Sandy Hook family on Saturday, December 29th at the Danbury Ice Arena in Danbury, CT
The benefit will be Newtown’s first home game of the season versus Watertown at 4 PM. It is free admission for all patrons. Donations will be excepted at the door with those patrons receiving a can of Hockey Soda Energy or Hockey Soda decaled pucks. Also being auctioned at the game will be Alexander Ovechkin and Tyler Seguin autographed sticks and more. Newtown players will be wearing special jerseys for the event to honor the Sandy Hook family.
