BATON ROUGE, La. – (April 15, 2014) – The goal of Louisiana- and Connecticut-based marketing company BRZoom (Bochanis Rogan Zoom LLC) is to “bring brand stories to life,” says co-founder and design director David Worrell. And that philosophy is really paying off with the company’s latest inventive design work for rising beverage brand Bayou Rum, as evidenced at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition, where Bayou Rum’s packaging won a double gold and two silver medals.
A little over two years ago, Louisiana Spirits, the parent company of Bayou Rum, hired BRZoom to help develop brand positioning, package designs and point of sale materials for its soon-to-be-launched Bayou Rum brand. Inspired by the rise in popularity of craft spirits – among the fastest-growing segments of the beverage alcohol market – BRZoom had already made a name for itself with clients in this category.
In addition to the awards earned at the World Spirits Competition, held March 21, 2014, Bayou’s new package designs are capturing growing recognition and intrigue from consumers. According to Worrell, his agency is reshaping the way craft spirits are marketed, promoting a switch from “style” to “brand” by focusing on packaging design treatments that capture the spirit and personality of each brand the agency represents.
For the past decade, BRZoom has worked with such powerhouse brands as Pabst Blue Ribbon, Snapple and Rickland Orchards to generate design and branding initiatives that create cultural connections with consumers. “We thrive on building meaningful connections between the culture of the brand and the consumers they target. That’s our sweet spot,” says Worrell.
About Bayou Rum
Bayou Rum, a Louisiana-based distillery that launched in July 2012, was built on the credo “Live Life to the Fullest,” a tribute to the unwavering spirit that runs through the region’s bayous and the veins of its residents. Recognizing this rich tradition and culture, BRZoom’s molded bottle design with the ubiquitous alligator trademark enables the brand to boldly capture the “Spirit of Louisiana.”
A full-service marketing resource, BRZoom helps brands take on bigger, better-funded “Goliaths” in their categories by connecting to the culture of consumers in ways larger brands would never consider. The result is deeper, more meaningful connections with consumers that keep emerging brands relevant … and leave the Goliaths asking, “How come we’re not doing that?”
