McCormick Distilling Celebrates National Moonshine Day

McCormick Distilling Company Platte Valley MoonshineWESTON, MO, June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ – Today, Granny from the Beverley Hillbillies would raise a glass and rejoice, because it’s National Moonshine Day! Hooch, white lightening or mountain dew, moonshine has many names and a colored history. As one of the fastest growing categories in beverage alcohol, it’s clear that Americans can’t get enough, but Platte Valley Moonshine, which has been ‘shining since 1856, knew this all along.

“We were cool before moonshine became cool,” said Vic Morrison, Vice President of Marketing for McCormick Distilling, producers of Platte Valley.  “We’ve seen Platte Valley Moonshine duplicated, but never replicated, so today we raise a glass to longevity, authenticity, our loyal moonshine drinkers and new moonshine lovers everywhere.”

Platte Valley is 100 percent straight corn whiskey that captures the essence of the South with a flavor that’s smooth, complex and full of character. Hand crafted and bottled in ceramic jugs with a cork finish, Platte Valley offers a premium taste that comes from 150 years of whiskey making experience.

As new brands flood the market trying to claim a stake in America’s white lightening industry, Platte Valley continues to grow and attract new drinkers with its authentic, premium, original taste. Available in 200 ml ($12.99), 750ml ($24.99), and 1.75L($39.99), Platte Valley is readily available across the country and can be enjoyed as a shot, on the rocks and in mixed drinks.
