From the bartender to the club promoter, the legendary music venues, late night eateries and resident DJs, Stoli and Andrew W.K. will capture their trailblazing stories for scenesters of today.
The ScenebyStoli Project first begins on Avenue A in New York City’s East Village, an unrefuted nucleus of counterculture nightlife, music, and art. The cultivation of avant-garde performance styles and prominence of dynamic nightlife throughout Avenue A has attracted people to its underground club and performance scenes for decades. The project will salute those who have made this street an epicenter of New York nightlife, telling the stories of the local characters and clubs who have turned just a street in the city into a cultural movement spanning decades.
Stoli shares its iconic history in the United States with these defining nightlife scenes, best exemplified by the fabled Pyramid Club on Avenue A; a beacon for authentic characters looking to be inspired. Scene One of the project will kick off with a special party in this legendary venue, where neighborhood icons and club veterans Lady Bunny and Andy Rourke of The Smiths will perform DJ sets and toast this seminal place, which has been a stomping ground for influential punk, rock, and drag performers, artists, and musicians since 1979.
