Big Bottom Distilling Launches Barlow Trail, Port Cask Finish Whiskey

HILLSBORO, OR – (March 4, 2015) – Big Bottom Distilling is launching its newest finished product of its staple whiskey – Big Bottom Barlow Trail, Port Cask Finish – which is a continuation of the company’s practice of “finishing” its whiskey in port casks. The first of the Barlow Trail lineup was launched last fall retailing at $29.95 and Barlow Trail, Port Cask Finish will retail for $37.95.

Big Bottom’s Barlow Trail is a proprietary blend of three whiskeys with straight bourbon as its base. The blender finishes the blended whiskey in tawny port casks to give it a unique flavor profile. This whiskey offers a sweet berry and citrus nose. On the palate, it showcases a fresh, ripe berry followed by a hint of peppery spice that gives way to a smooth, rich and malty quality from the American Oak port casks.

“Our customers are big fans of our finished bourbon, so it was a natural decision to finish the blended whiskey in the port casks,” noted Ted Pappas, owner of Big Bottom Distilling. “After tasting this beautiful whiskey, I have no doubt our port finished bourbon lovers will embrace it.”

– 2013 TheFiftyBest.com named Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Zinfandel Cash Finish “Best Bourbon.”
– 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition honored the Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Port Cask Finish.
– 2011 MicroLiquor Awards, “Taste Category,” selected the Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Port Cask Finish.
