Black Button Distilling Expands Facility, Adds Staff

Black Button SilosROCHESTER, NY (APRIL 13, 2015) – As a result of increased demand, Black Button Distilling, Rochester, NY’s first and finest grain to glass craft distillery, today installed two 15-ton grain silos outside the distillery at 85 Railroad Street.

The silos, a capacity improvement made to handle the bulk corn and wheat grown in Livingston County for the production of Black Button Distilling spirits, allows for the additional expansion of the facility that has been planned for several months.

“I never imagined that we would install silos and a second still only 14 months into this journey,” said owner/head distiller Jason Barrett. “The Rochester community has been tremendously supportive. And now, to see our products spreading across the country, shaping cocktails and family gatherings all over the United States is exciting and incredibly humbling.”

Black Button Distilling makes approximately 1,800 bottles of Corn Whiskey, Citrus Forward Gin, Vodka and Four Grain Bourbon each week, with plans to double production by the end of the year. In preparation for that, two new fermenters have also recently been added, bringing the total onsite to six.

As one of the fastest growing craft distilleries in New York, Black Button has also hired a second key account manager to handle accounts in the Syracuse, Adirondack and Binghamton markets.
