Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 — Construction is underway at the Dented Brick Distillery, Salt Lake City’s first destination distillery, with grand opening events planned this fall. In the Trax Corridor off 33rd South at 3100 Washington Street in South Salt Lake City, the Dented Brick Distillery brings the art of grain-to-glass liquor to the people of the Wasatch Front with their custom-built 500 gallon Vendome copper batch still.
“From the start, this project has been about creating something absolutely original,” said Celeste Royal, CFO at Dented Brick Distillery. “Watching the demolition of the old brick house at 3100 Washington Street prepare the way for Dented Brick Distillery was a powerful experience for the team.”
Following a successful brick-laying event last month, distillery construction completion is targeted for July 2015 with grand opening events scheduled this fall. When the doors open in the fall of 2015, the public is invited to explore their 14,000 square foot distillery and get an up-close view of the grain-to-glass process, creating liquor 100% fermented, distilled, infused, and bottled from high quality botanicals, grains, yeast, and molasses.
“Dented Brick Distillery is the latest in a series of small businesses that have made significant investments in our community,” said Cherie Wood, Mayor of the City of South Salt Lake. “Their new building will revitalize and enhance the mixed-use neighborhood along our TRAX corridor. We are glad to have them be a key part of our city on the move.”
“The distillery team has been working on this project since we received our original basic permit in March of 2011,” said Marc Christensen, CEO at Dented Brick Distillery. “Laying the cornerstone this spring is a huge step towards finally bringing this dream to reality. We look forward to the grand opening, finally firing our stills, and bringing our original grains to glass recipes to market!”
Financing for the project is provided by Proficio Bank, a commercial bank chartered in Utah and located in Salt Lake City. “As a Small Business Administration (SBA) approved lender, Proficio Bank understands the financing needs of small and growing businesses in the Salt Lake City community” said Bill Exeter, Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer at Proficio Bank. “We are delighted to be involved in the distillery project and to support the ongoing revitalization of the Trax Corridor.”
