20 Plate Vodka Will Replace Black Button’s Wheat Vodka, the First Spirit Released by Black Button Distilling Four Years Ago
ROCHESTER, NY (AUGUST 1, 2016) – Black Button Distilling, Rochester, NY’s first and finest grain to glass craft distillery, will release their newest spirit, 20 Plate Vodka, on August 13, 2016. This new vodka, made in a hybrid still, will replace the Black Button Wheat Vodka, Black Button’s very first spirit, released four years ago.
Distilled to 180 proof through Black Button Distilling’s four plate whiskey column, 20 Plate Vodka (80% wheat, 20% malted barley) is then reduced back to 120 proof and run up the 16 plate vodka column to 192 proof. This two-step process creates an ultra-smooth vodka that needs minimal filtering to be truly delicious.
“The 20 Plate Vodka stays true to the style we’ve always had, but this new recipe is smoother, crisper, and cleaner that our first vodka,” said Jason Barrett, Black Button Distilling owner/head distiller. “As always, Black Button is committed to making the best distilled spirits from local grains and 20 Plate Vodka is our latest example of constant improvement.”
A launch party to celebrate the release of 20 Plate Vodka will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on August 13, 2016 at Black Button Distilling. Fresh fruit, and light fare will be served.
