Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland — The gin that’s taken Ireland by storm arrives in America in September. Conncullin Irish Gin is an exquisitely crafted small batch premium Irish gin produced by the acclaimed Connacht Distillery in County Mayo on Ireland’s rugged western shores.
Irish gin is a fairly new category as spirits go, so the name and image of Connacht’s flagship gin evoke the modern, clean nature of Irish gin.
Conncullin Irish Gin (47% ABV) is named for Loch Conn and Loch Cullin, two lakes in County Mayo that supply Connacht Distillery with its pristine water. Master Distiller Robert Cassell has developed Conncullin Irish Gin with a graceful balance of citrus, elderberry and juniper, and it has a refreshing and sophisticated finish. Conncullin Irish Gin has a sumptuous berry nose and is pot distilled by hand using the finest Irish botanicals.
Four other Connacht products, currently available in Washington, D.C., New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, will also be available in NY, NJ and MA in September. They include: Brothership Irish-American Blended Whiskey; Straw Boys Irish Vodka; Straw Boys Irish Poitin; and Spade&Bushel 10-year-old-Single Malt Cask Strength Irish Whiskey (see product information below).
In April, Conncullin Irish Gin was awarded a gold medal and an exceptional rating of 92 points by Chicago’s Beverage Testing Institute. Brothership Irish-American Blended Whiskey was awarded an excellent rating and 92 points at the 2017 Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Additionally, Connacht’s Straw Boys Irish Vodka (40 % ABV; $19.99 MSRP) and its Spade&Bushel 10-year-old-Single Malt Cask Strength Irish whiskey (57.5 % ABV; $39.99 MSRP) earned 94-point and 86-point ratings, respectively. “I have never seen such consistently high scores across such a mix of products and pricing from one distillery,” said Tom Jensen, one of Connacht’s owners and an American liquor industry veteran.
Conncullin Irish Gin will be available in NY, NJ, PA, MA, MD, NH and DE. SRP $29.99
