G Pure Energy’s flagship flavor is “Lulo Lime”, a lightly flavored and lightly carbonated citrus / herbal energy drink that is extremely drinkable. More notable is the glass bottle, which is anything but your average energy drink package. The company, which was founded by Ole Sandberg, the creator of VOSS Water, has clearly gone for similar styling with this package. In fact, we think that consumers who are familiar with VOSS will immediately wonder if there is a connection between the two. While it is certainly an attractive and innovative package, we have two issues with it. First, the writing on the bottle, which is extremely hard to read. It does not say “Lulo Lime” anywhere on the label and it’s quite tough to find the word “energy” as it is behind some darker green text. That being said, the second issue is that it’s not immediately obvious that this product really is an energy drink, or, for that matter, even a beverage. The product’s washed-out label paired with its trendy design left us wondering if G Pure would be mistaken for a bottle of perfume. Still, we conceptually like the product and appreciate its innovative look and flavor. A few improvements would make this a great product.
