Review: Green Tea Aloe Vera Passion Fruit

Starting with a base of green tea and aloe vera (which makes up their flagship variety), Chan Tea’s Passion Fruit Flavor adds passion fruit flavoring to the mixture. And that’s really the only difference between this and the original formulation. The added fruit flavoring gives the product a very strong floral aroma and flavor. This is likely the result of the flavoring working on top of the sweet aloe flavor and the grassy green tea. For us, we prefer the simplicity of the original. We’d say the same for the packaging, which is made different by the addition of a red stripe running vertically and an image of a passion fruit cut in half. The image of the passion fruit isn’t something that is likely to whet the appetite of the American consumer, so we’d suggest that they come up with something different or simply remove it. Otherwise, the design is something that does not yet seem to be at a polished or finished state. Overall, the concept of marrying passion fruit, aloe vera, and green tea sounds interesting, but the product just isn’t where it needs to be yet.
