CucuOne, which markets itself as an “English Cucumber Juice Drink,” is a USDA Organic and Non-GMO verified blend of water and cold-pressed english cucumber. This product, which is high pressure processed, has a flavor that is pretty close to what you’ll find in a spa water-type beverage. It’s devoid of sweetness and very light in body, which is true to what you’d get from cucumber juice if made at home. It tastes like watered-down cucumber juice, which is not a bad thing. And at only 10 calories and 1g of sugar per 8 ounces, it’s certainly something that offers clean low-calorie refreshment. However, we’re not really sure how big the potential is for a line of cucumber-only beverages. That being said, the branding and packaging of this product really needs to make this product appealing, even to those consumers who aren’t huge fans of cucumber. As it stands right now, we think the product is a bit rough around the edges. For starters, we think the label needs some design help, both to improve the aesthetics of it (including the CucuOne logo and the organization of the text elements) and to make the differentiation between the flavors more obvious. In its current form, we think it will be easy to overlook this product for other more strongly branded products. Overall, it’s a unique concept, but the packaging needs work.
