Review: Extreme Recharge Energy Drink

Posted: Nov 22, 2005 at 12:00 AM (Last Updated: Nov 22, 2005 at 9:34 AM)
The latest drink from Impulse is its first new entry in over a year -- and its first entry into the 16-ounce category. The design of the Extreme Recharge can features bright red and blue graphics that pop out at you, but the red and blue dots send a different message than the aggressive font used for "EXTREME.” Still, the overall image is innocuous, but has enough pop to run with the other players in the category. Regardless, it's what's inside the can that really makes this drink excel. Featuring a berry-citrus flavor that is pink in color, Extreme Recharge has an extremely pleasing flavor that is both tart and tangy. It is complemented by a moderate level of carbonation, resulting in an effervescence that is rarely found in today's potent drinks. Finally, Extreme Recharge has no aftertaste or medicinal flavors. All in all, it's a very pleasant drinking experience, albeit one that could use some minor refinement on the outside.
