Review: Grape

It’s pretty well established that grape drinks don’t taste like grapes, but like artificial grape flavoring. That noted, we enjoyed the Firefighter brand version of artificial grape flavoring, thought that it was very sweet, and marveled, once again, at their ability to come up with an energy drink that tastes so much more like a soda than any other energy drink we’ve encountered. There’s simply none of that caffeine taste we think about with energy drinks, and we’re very impressed by that. We’re not so impressed by the use of high-fructose corn syrup, however, especially since Firefighter brand goes out of its way to mention that it doesn’t use the stuff in other products. Could use a simplified label, but otherwise, a nice effort.
