Made with a USDA Organic blend of cashew milk, bananas, dates, vanilla, chia seed, sea salt, inulin, fermented corn sugar and vegan probiotics. The liquid, which undergoes high pressure pasteurization, is one of the tastier nut milk products that Forager has created. It’s rich and creamy, with a body more like a smoothie, and there’s a subtle cashew flavor that provides the base for the drink. From there, you’ll find a note of dates, which are used for sweetness, as well as banana, salt and vanilla. The banana flavor is actually quite light, which is not what we expected, but we really like how it’s more of an accent flavor than something that steals the show. All in all, this is a really enjoyable tasting product. From a nutritional perspective, the product, which includes two 8 oz. servings, has 190 calories, 12g of fat, 5g of protein, and 10g of sugars. The added probiotics are a nice plus, although it still seems like the primary function of this product is as a meal replacement. From a design perspective, this package follows the template of Forager's other nut milk varieties. If we have any criticism of it it would be that the colors look somewhat washed out and that there’s too much text on the front of the bottle (we’d eliminate the “ORGANIC” and the ingredient list). Still, it’s definitely an intuitive looking product and one that we think consumers will be able to quickly grasp. Overall, a nice line extension for Forager, and we think that the move into probiotics is a wise one.
