Review: Probiotic Cashew Smoothie - Strawberry Banana

Compared with Forager's Banana Date variety, the brand's Strawberry Banana Probiotic Cashew Smoothie has a much different and more fruit-forward flavor. In fact, the flavor of strawberry and orange hit your palate almost immediately. It’s really not until the finish that you taste the cashew milk. As a result, this product tastes much more like a strawberry banana smoothie than a nut milk. To that end, it’s definitely a nice alternative to other products out there, which often use soy or dairy as the base. On the nutrition end, the product has 180 calories, 21g of sugars, 4g of protein, 2g of fiber, and vitamin C (70 percent RDA), calcium (4 percent RDA), vitamin A (6 percent RDA), and iron (8 percent RDA). The added probiotics, sourced from GanedenBC, give the product functionality and a marketable benefit for some consumers. However, it doesn’t seem like it’s the primary reason that someone will consume this product. Packaging is a 16 oz. plastic bottle, which is the same format that Forager uses on its other single-serve products. It features a photo of some strawberries and sliced bananas, while a white background is where the text is placed. It is, however, a somewhat text-heavy label, which is a concern in terms of how this product stands out. Simplifying the copy such that only the critical elements are on the front would be one approach. Overall, we wish the copy on front panel were a bit tighter, but this is very much a worthy addition to the Forager line.
