Found’s latest flavor is this one, Watermelon Basil, and it very much follows in the footsteps of the brand's other flavors. At 62 calories and 14g of sugars per 11.2 oz. bottle, this product is clean both in flavor and ingredients. It starts off with a base of sparkling mineral water, which is enhanced with sugar, citric acid, and watermelon and basil aromas. The end result is something that’s very flavorful and enjoyable. While it’s a little too acidic at the finish, the watermelon and basil flavors work nicely together. It’s light and refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness behind it. However, it does taste a bit too sweet to really be considered a sparkling water. But whatever you call it, the execution of the formulation is very well done. Packaging makes this the complete package. Found’s choice of bottle, which is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, isn’t the most practical format, but it visually stands out. It has a retro feel to it -- almost as if it’s a modern take on Clearly Canadian -- and the design is attractive looking. Still, the shape of the bottle and lack of a background make for something that’s slightly difficult to read. Improving upon this would certainly help, assuming the company doesn’t have to compromise the brand in the process. Overall, this is a nice bolt-on flavor for Found that doesn’t necessarily enhance the brand, but it is a tasty flavor that their existing consumers will enjoy.
