Review: Coconut Water

We’ve been big fans of Hiball’s efforts in aluminum packaging and its latest product, a coconut water energy drink, is no exception. There have been a variety of energy drink companies that have incorporated coconut water into their products, but, generally speaking, it is an ingredient that often gets overpowered and lost among stronger flavors. Fortunately, that’s far from the case with this product. Instead, the product tastes, first and foremost, like a coconut water drink. Being a non-carbonated product with coconut water (from concentrate) as the first ingredient is definitely a key part of this. From there, Hiball has added a variety of energy drink enhancements, including organic caffeine (140mg), organic guarana (40mg), organic ginseng (40mg) and B vitamins. It’s an extremely gulpable product that, with only 80 calories per 16 oz. serving, is something that you don’t have to feel bad about drinking. Visually, Hiball has done a great job of maintaining the simplicity of its design while making the product look like a typical coconut water drink (thanks to the blue and green color palette). Overall, coconut water and energy hybrids haven’t been a lay up, but Hiball’s effort is the best we’ve seen to date.
