Review: Lemonade

Speaking purely from a flavor perspective, Juicera Kids Lemonade is truly one of the best tasting lemonades we’ve ever had from a packaged product. The three ingredient blend of water, organic lemon juice and organic palm nectar, which is certified USDA Organic and is high pressure processed (HPP), is the perfect example of what you’d get if you made a fresh glass of lemonade at home. But alas, this is a kids' drink, so our outlook is slightly different. Specifically, we wonder if it’s sweet enough for a kid’s palate. We’re honestly not advocating that kid’s consume more sugar, but it is something that we wonder about. If it were a product targeting adults, we’d think it’s perfect. On the outside, the product has a full wrap 10 oz. bottle. For an HPP product, it’s an interesting approach in that you can’t see the liquid inside. On the one hand, this gives the product a clear identity versus their main line, but we wonder if it diminishes the premium look of the product. Given that this product is going to be priced between $4.50 and $5.50 at Whole Foods, it will be interesting to see how it works out. For now, we like the approach, mainly because it brings differentiation to both the brand and category. Overall, a very enjoyable bottle of lemonade.
