Review: Green Power IV

(Last Updated: Jun 04, 2014 at 2:07 PM)
Juicera’s Green Power IV is a bold blend of romaine, swiss chard, bok choy, celery, broccoli, ginger and lemon. It’s a USDA Organic cold-pressed and high pressure processed product that, like the other Juicera flavors, comes in both 8 and 16 oz. sizes. For this particular flavor, the lack of sweetness and the intensity of the greens will likely make it difficult for most people to put down anymore than 8 ounces. That’s not to say that it’s a bad product -- the flavor is complex and nicely balanced. The ginger and lemon provide a nice final note, which, in the absence of sweetness, gets you hooked and coming back for more. Still, as enjoyable as the flavor is, we’re also left feeling as though it’s not that much different than competing products. We’d say the same about the visual end of things. Looking at this product from afar, it would be hard to identify it from other brands that are in the same 16 oz. bottle. That said, we’re much more keen on the 8 oz. bottle, which, at least at this stage of the category, is both a less common format and one that likely provides some price differentiation. Beyond that, we feel as though the company needs to do more to make this product visually stand out.
