Juicera’s Metabolic Lemonade is their riff on the master cleanse lemonade that has become a ubiquitous part of the raw juice trend. In this case, the key difference is that Juicera has subbed in coconut palm nectar in place of the traditional maple syrup. Regardless of this having a health benefit or not, it makes sense for a brand from Florida. In terms of flavor, the sweetness seems slightly less pronounced using this approach, with the coconut palm nectar lacking the slightly caramelized flavor that is found in maple syrup. Otherwise, the heat and citrus are very much what you’d expect from a product like this. On the outside, the company has chosen a 16 oz. cylindrical bottle with a label that’s mostly clear. This certainly makes it easily identifiable as a raw juice product. However, there are a few things that we feel should be changed. First, and foremost, the name of the product, which is not appealing to the senses. This is, regardless of their intentions, still a beverage product and the word “metabolic” is too matter of fact. Second, the “word cloud” at the top of the bottle has too much visual emphasis. The placement and visual treatment makes this addition feel cluttered rather than something that helps the purchase decision. As for the rest of the brand, we like the Juicera name and the logo that the company has created. We just wish that it stood out more and focused on being polished rather than conceptual (like the green “U” in the logo). Overall, we really do like this product, but we feel as though it would be a lot better off if the name were more change to something that’s a bit more approachable.
