Review: Turmeric Sunshine

Using a cold-pressed and high pressure processed blend of orange, carrots, apple, lemon and turmeric, this flavor of Purify Juice is probably the most mainstream tasting of the bunch. It starts out with a heavy note of citrus, although it does appear to have a slightly bitter note to it (perhaps because the company is pressing the peels). From there, you’ll find a note of carrots and apple, followed by some spice from the turmeric. It is, however, a product that’s on the sweeter end of the spectrum. All in all, it’s really quite refreshing and the simplicity of it is definitely a good thing. But a bit more turmeric -- or perhaps some ginger -- might make it even better. On the packaging and branding front, this is effort is somewhat rough around the edges in that it lacks the required nutrition facts panel. Aside from it not being in compliance, this keeps the consumer from seeing how much sugar and calories are in the product. Otherwise, the minimalist style of the product is in line with many products in the category, which seem to use this approach as an ode to the minimally processed liquid that’s inside the bottle. For Purify, this works quite well, especially with their one color design that’s clean and easy to read. Overall, a nice start from Purify.
