This variety of Red Ace, which is called Beets & Turmeric, is made with a USDA Organic blend of beet juice, carrot juice, apple juice, lemon juice, celery powder, ginger powder, turmeric and organic lemon extract. From a positioning perspective, we think it makes complete sense for Red Ace to expand its lineup with a turmeric-enhanced offering. And what the company has created is actually quite delicious. The flavor of the product is earthy and sweet, with a potent beet flavor (there is the equivalent of two beets in each bottle) that hits your palate immediately and lingers beyond the finish. The turmeric and ginger help cut the sweetness a little bit, while also adding a slight spice flavor to the mix. We honestly wouldn't mind a bit more ginger and turmeric flavor as it might help further distinguish the product from the flagship offering. Right now, the beet flavor eventually overwhelms your palate and masks the other flavors. Packaging is a 2 oz. glass bottle which has a label that fully wraps the bottle. It’s definitely tight on real estate, but Red Ace has done a good job of making the front of the bottle look attractive and clean. However, we wish that the company made the callout for the flavor a bit larger. And we have to wonder if this product wouldn’t look better if it were in a plastic bottle. Overall, adding turmeric to its flagship product definitely makes for something that’s more marketable than than the original. But we still wonder if this can break out from being a niche product.
