The label on this attractive Republic of Tea container instructs us to enjoy the beverage made from “rare white tea buds” “sip by sip” rather than “gulp by gulp.” That’s good advice, because aside from a bit of orange scent, it takes some work to actually identify much flavor in this brew, and small sips gave us more trips to the plate. What we got in the end was a tea that we would love to see poured out of a large pitcher on a hot day. It tastes like a weak homemade iced tea, with a slightly bitter taste upfront and a delicate, almost dry finish. All in all, this light beverage in the cool teardrop bottle is definitely worth a try to see what white tea can taste like when it has been left unadulterated by sweeteners.
